just had to chime in and add my two cents. I love black cats and had two who
were part Maine coon cats, so they had beautiful long black hair. They were
brothers, and were named Quin and Quincy when I adopted them, but were renamed
to Itchy and Scratchy. Itchy is still around, but Scratchy turned up MIA over a
year ago.

OK, gotta add my weirdos to the bunch
They insist that a mug of water be left for them in
the bathroom sink so that they can drink when the mood
strikes. Forget about the numerous water dishes we
have all over the house.
Phantom, our torty calico enjoys chewing on plastic
bags. No swallowing or even putting it into her
mouth, just crunching a little with her teeth. Her
brother did the same before we lost him earlier this
year :(
And Chaucer, our token male enjoys being massaged with
my deep-muscle massaging wand. He's especially happy
when I turn the heat feature on!!!

Okay, now I know I'm helping to keep us OT here, but I have to tell you
about my black critter...he isn't a cat...he's a 10+ year old black dwarf
rabbit (named Spooky) who thinks he's a dog. He freeranges through the
house and chases after our chocolate lab. He constantly harrasses her to
play with him, racing between her legs and stomping his hind feet to get her
attention. He's been broadsided and has gone flying through the air when he
miscalculates and races into her path (she has never hurt a hair on his
head), and still comes back for more. The vet's amazed at his activity
level for his age. (Heck, she's amazed he's still ALIVE!) I attribute it
to all the exercise he gets.
